Where we’re aiming
This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Most of it clears AAA on contrast.
What that means in practice
- Contrast. Every text colour was measured against its background before it was used. Body and heading text sits between 7.4:1 and 16:1 — well past the 4.5:1 minimum. One colour in the palette fails as text, so it is used only for borders and surfaces, never for type.
- Keyboard. Everything you can click, you can reach with Tab. Focus is always visible — a 2px amber ring, never removed. There is a skip-to-content link as the first stop. The mobile menu traps focus while open, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
- Motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, all animation is switched off — including the scrolling ticker, which becomes a static strip rather than freezing part-way.
- Status is never colour alone. Anything unavailable is labelled in words, not signalled by dimming or a colour change that some people cannot see.
- Forms. Every field has a visible label. Errors appear next to the field they belong to, are announced to screen readers, and say what to do about it rather than just that something is wrong.
- Images. Meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative ones are hidden from screen readers instead of being announced as noise.
- Players. Nothing autoplays with sound. The Spotify player only loads when you choose to press play.
Known gaps
This is a new site and it will grow. Anything added to it — photographs, audio, video — gets the same treatment as what is already here: descriptive alt text on every image, and captions or a transcript on anything with speech.
Third-party content
The Spotify player is built and controlled by Spotify. We load it only on request, but we can’t change how accessible its internals are.
Tell us if something doesn’t work
If you hit a barrier on this site, we want to know — that is a bug, and it gets fixed like any other.
